Get Moving with Cigna

Earlier this year we launched Coach by Cigna, and to celebrate we found three enthusiastic individuals to bring this tool to life!  The Coach by Cigna app allows users to create a personalised lifestyle improvement programme that includes motivational coaching.  Over three months, our three ambassadors used the app and worked with their own Les Mills personal trainer to train for Cigna Round the Bays on February 22nd.  See their blogs about their experiences below.

I need a goal to help kick start my need for a 2015 lifestyle overhaul. I have always had this fantasy that I could be good at running, but this far in life it has yet to come to fruition - perhaps with the help of a personal trainer I can, at long last, become a runner!
It sounds ridiculous, but I want to lose my baby weight (ridiculous, because my son is three years old...!), yes, a long time coming, but better late than never, right?!

A couple of years ago I set myself the goal to run "21 at 21" - a half marathon in my 21st year. Unfortunately my netball injuries caused problems, and I haven't trained properly since.  I've been working with physiotherapists, joined a Jog Squad and I think I can finally make it to 21kms! Finally being able to achieve a goal that's been 3 years in the making is why I want to run Round the Bays in 2015.

Having the Round the Bays Wellington 2015 event to look forward to will give me a goal to aim towards. It's been an incredibly tough year for me, struggling with depression and losing motivation for exercise - put on weight and it becomes a vicious circle. I've done round the bays previously, but I've always wanted to be able to run the event - the whole distance! To win this would give me the motivation, support and encouragement that I need.

For me this is about getting fit and getting healthy - it isn't just about physical health but also mental health.
