Cigna has a range of partnerships that reflect our commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders, from non-profit and community organisations to local events.
One day each year our whole company takes a day to volunteer and do something meaningful to help better our communities.
In previous years we’ve helped the Wellington City Council build a walking track in Gilberd Bush Reserve. Our work from home staff around the regions have chosen this day to volunteer, for example, at their local SPCA, Hospice, Community Patrols and Salvation Army.
Nobody likes being caught short, so our female employees can rest safe knowing we have them covered, by providing sanitary items onsite in our female and gender neutral bathrooms in Wellington, Takapuna and Christchurch. By partnering with Dignity, we’re helping provide free sanitary items to local school girls at the same time.

Achilles International NZ
Our official charity partner Achilles New Zealand helps New Zealanders of all abilities take part in mainstream running events.
Both in New Zealand, and around the world, Cigna is a key supporter of Achilles International.
A 100% volunteer organisation, Achilles New Zealand aims to give Kiwis with disabilities the opportunity to participate alongside able-bodied athletes in mainstream events – helping them to experience the sense of achievement taking part provides.
Each year we offer financial support to help Achilles grow its New Zealand presence, and help more Kiwis with disabilities to achieve their physical achievement goals. Each year we donate $10,000
With eight chapters around New Zealand you too can get involved – either as a guide or if you have a disability as an Achilles athlete yourself. Find out more on the Achilles website.
Life Education Trust
Life Education is a charity that educates and empowers children to make healthy choices so they can live full and healthy lives. Every year they teach over 250,000 children about their body, friendships, their identity, food and nutrition and helpful and harmful substances.
Teaching these life lessons, along with mental health awareness in schools are initiatives close to our hearts, which is why we’ve partnered with The Life Education Trust.
We are passionate about getting behind the Life Education’s in school activities, and supporting them in their development and launch of new programmes - such as the Small Changes Whānau Challenge.
Rainbow Tick certification
We wear our Rainbow Tick with pride! This certification shows that Cigna is safe, welcoming and inclusive for everyone regardless of their gender identity and sexual orientation.
