A CIGNA Income Protection insurance policy offers you financial security in the event of an accident or illness that stops you from doing your job temporarily.

A CIGNA Income Protection insurance policy offers you financial security in the event of an accident or illness that stops you from doing your job temporarily.

Your income is crucial to keeping your household going and meeting your monthly financial commitments. Without it, you could rapidly use up your hard-earned savings, or worse, find yourself in financial strife.

Many people never stop to consider illness or accidents as a threat to their financial situation. However, men have a 50% chance and women a 70% chance of having a short-term illness or injury that affects their ability to work. (Davies Financial and Actuarial Limited). And, 4 out of 5 long-term illnesses and disabilities are not covered by ACC (Creating Wealth, 2008).

With a CIGNA Income Protection insurance policy, providing your claim is valid, you could receive a monthly cash payout in the event of an accident or illness that stops you working. You can apply for a range of cover, up to $2500 per month. Coverage can be paid for either 12 or 24 months. At the time of making a claim, you must be working 25 or more hours per week.

Your CIGNA Income Protection payments are yours to spend as you wish, whether that is for mortgage payments, bills, food, medical treatment or whatever keeps life as you know it going. And, your payments are payable to you on top of any ACC payouts or payments from other income protection policies you may have.
